For this project we were supposed to take a piece of art that we had made this year and destroy it with some symbolism. I decided to take the EARphones that I had made previously and hit them with a hammer because heads phone tend to break very easily in the oddest ways. Teens go through multiple pairs in a year and I showed that in my destruction. Pre-hammer hit Post- hammer

For our artist collaborate project, my table and I and making a life sized ISpy game to put in the courtyard. Our plan is to put the objects to find around the courtyard; some in easy spot and others in harder. Then we will draw with chalk a list of what to find on the brick wall. We may make some way for the people who participate to submit their answers via Twitter. I hope in the end it will turn out to be a popular thing to do at lunch or in the mornings. My contribution to the project is making the alphabet to hide around. Some letters will be big and others will be small. For this project I used paint in a spray bottle to make my art. It took awhile to find the type of paint and ratio of paint to water that would spray from the bottle. Once I figured that out I had to find a way to spray the paint in the spots I wanted but not spray the parts of the paper I wanted white. There was a lot of guess and check out in before I worked on the final piece. I took a risk by using a median I had never used before and I wasn't sure if it would really work the way I wanted it to. In the end, my project turned out to be unlike what I originally intended, but I do like the way it looks. It's more of an abstract landscape and people see different things in it and I think that's pretty cool. |
