Last week as an introduction to the new unit we had a little competition. Using only newspaper and tape, we had to build the tallest freestanding tower out of the class. The building part and making it super tall was easy but to have it be tall and freestanding was a bit of a challenge. My group used a separate, shorter tower to stabilize the taller one. For my project this week, I chose the imitation of only paint in a spray bottle and paper. If I make mistakes there isn't a way for me to correct them, only to add on to it and make it better than the original plan. I hope in the end to create a sunset and mountains fading in the distance ^ a photo of the sunset part of the picture

What is the difference between copying and being inspired by something? Well, copying would be doing an exact match to some element of the piece. Being inspired is taking something from a piece and putting your own personal spin on it. In this unit, artists steal, I took the meaning of earphones literally. I made the part of the earphone that goes in your ear and actual ear. It was a play on words. We also did a character remix. For this I took the old man from up and the little boy and switched the faces. |
